International education and research in wildlife tracking and ecology, bushcraft and human culture

Where are you traveling to this year?

Come to Africa on the safari experience of a lifetime!

1

A private, two-week safari experience in South Africa

9 people, maximum

Contact us if you have another region in mind. While South Africa is our back yard, we also guide in many other countries and continents.

2

Ecology: For those wanting to see wildlife and have photography options, you will visit some of the world’s most scenic places and see wildlife, big and small, up-close and personal, on foot and from open-air, safari vehicles.

3

Culture: South Africa is rich in culture, both historical and current. This experience can include expert tours from rock-art to Apartheid sites, and even some “primitive skills” demonstration and instruction, such as: fire making, ethnobotany, spoon carving, basketry, and tracking…

4

Tracking: This is a personalized tracking experience with two of the best trackers in the world, Kersey Lawrence and Lee Gutteridge. For even non-wildlife trackers, tracking is an exciting and eye-opening experience into seeing how animals live on and interact with each other and the landscape at an intimate level.

Cost: This varies upon your desired experience, but a 14 day/13 night experience (2016 prices) in our bush camp starts at $3,490 – excluding your air flight costs. Air flight costs vary depending on how long you wait to book and from where you are flying. This price includes all expenses (ground transportation, lodging, meals, gate fees, etc.) from the time of your arrival in South Africa to the time you re-board the plane to go back home. There are a few exceptions that you will be responsible for: beverages other than water, tips, souvenirs, and one or two lunches and dinners where the group may not be all together as you explore souvenir shops or small South African towns (see the sample itinerary). This fee also includes the personal and professional guide services of Lee Gutteridge of Nature Guide Training (NatureGuideTraining.com) and Kersey Lawrence of Original Wisdom (OriginalWisdom.com), full-time (see their bios). This cost, $3,490, can go up, or down, depending on what you decide to include or exclude: optional extras include stays in luxury lodges with hundreds of rock art sites, overnights in historical villages, backpacker trails in the Kruger, etc…
